Playing Audio Tracks

Playing audio Tracks with MediaMonkey is straightforward whether you are using MediaMonkey or Winamp as the player. Tracks are added to the Now Playing queue and are then played. Basic Playback can be done in a single step, though finer control can be achieved by using all of the Now Playing queue's features.

Basic Playback

  1. Select the Tracks you would like to play
  2. Click the Play Now button in the Play menu.

The Tracks you've selected will fill the Now Playing queue, replacing others that may have previously been there, and begin playing from the first Track. If you've selected only a single Track, additional Tracks may be added to the Now Playing queue, depending on how you've configured the player.

Tracks that are playing can be viewed by selecting the Now Playing node, with the currently playing Track appearing in bold.

Using the Now Playing Queue

For finer-grained control over which Tracks are played, you can modify the Now Playing queue. Think of the Now Playing queue as a list of Tracks that you can modify, even as they are being played one by one by the Player. You can:

Player Commands

Once a Now Playing queue exists, the following commands are active within the Player (whether you are using MediaMonkey or Winamp): Play, Pause, Stop, Next Track, Previous Track .
